Radiology OneSource Meeting Market
Demands -- Moves to New Corporate Headquarters
September 20, 2005
(Nashville, TN, September 22, 2005) -- While many people come and go in
the pre-owned market, Debbie van der Touw has been steadfast since 1991
in meeting her customers needs with a fresh and adaptive approach to
business. As a result, Radiology OneSource is growing again. In fact,
the growth has pushed them right out of Nolensville and into a new
18,500 square foot office/showroom/logistics center just down the road
in Franklin.
“In the beginning, I worked alone.” says Debbie van der Touw, founder
and CEO of Radiology OneSource and its parent company D.Cole
Enterprises, Inc. “It has since 1997 transformed into an operation of
20+ employees all over the world -- and, it’s still growing.”
She isn’t exaggerating. The Radiology OneSource group of companies has
become one of the largest independent resellers of diagnostic imaging
equipment in the market. Anchoring their overseas efforts near Brussels,
Belgium is Radiology OneSource Europe. Erik van Blokland joined the
company as General Manager in Belgium mid July and is challenged with
bringing the company to the next level.
Radiology OneSource Australia in Sydney opened in February 2005. Now, van
der Touw is putting together management teams for three more locations
in 2006—one in the area of the former Soviet Republic and two in Latin
America. More will follow.
According to Parts Manager, Carrie McQueen, the added space in the US
office was definitely justified. “We exclusively distribute in North
America IAE replacement x-ray tubes (www.iae.it), offer rebuilt AMX
portables, OEC C-Arms and fully refurbished ultrasound transducers just
to name a few. It all has to fit somewhere. Our parts department has
grown so much in the past 6 months that I have added more staff to keep
up with the demand. My department easily fills half of the warehouse
already.”
Radiology OneSource means what the name implies by offering a complete
line of diagnostic imaging equipment including conventional and PET CT,
Ultrasound, C-Arms, conventional X-Ray modalities, MRI, nuclear
medicine, mammography, bone densitometry and accessory systems. The
company is also the exclusive North America distributor of the Digivex (www.medex.be),
a digital X-ray system for veterinary use.
“The majority of pre-owned equipment we purchase direct from hospitals
and medical facilities that are installing new equipment,” says Jonathan
Boatwright, Product Manager for Women’s Health, which includes
Mammography and Bone Densitometry. “In most cases, the systems are in
great working condition — with a few signs of normal use. We inspect
every one prior to purchase. They undergo a complete battery of tests
before we make them available for resale.” Trevor Savage, C-Arm and
Portable X-ray manager adds “Most systems we purchase will be
refurbished to nearly new specifications. The customer has options
ensure the system precisely meets their needs via available upgrades and
feature add-ons. This high level of service is what our customers have
come to expect from us.”
So what explains the exponential growth? “Reliability, attention to
detail and perhaps our ability to communicate with people in their
native tongue,” explains Dave Spodeck, Ultrasound Product Manager for
worldwide operations. “Radiology OneSource employs a sales staff capable
of speaking 15 different languages – Spanish, Dutch, French, German,
Italian, Portuguese, Russian, and Greek…just to name a few. Such
diversity allows us to reach out to all four corners of the world.”
The Williamson County/Franklin Chamber of Commerce welcomed Radiology
OneSource to the community last month with a ribbon cutting ceremony,
followed by refreshments and a tour of the Cool Springs corporate
headquarters. “We want to build a long lasting friendship with the
community and its business leaders. Our official opening served to start
that process. We shared this relationship with the community of
Nolensville, where I served as Chairman of the Board for the Chamber in
2004. It was a wonderful experience,” van der Touw reflects. “Now we are
just as excited about our move to Franklin, our membership with our
local chamber and our continued service to the medical community---not
only in middle Tennessee but around the world.”
